New Children’s Blog
We are launching our new children’s program blog. This site will be a place to discuss current events, topics of interest and importance to the families of our church and access to helpful resources for parents all cast against a spiritual backdrop. Check it out at
Children's Ministry Volunteer Opportunities
The experience of sharing God’s word and love with our children and community is so rewarding – both you and the children are sure to experience God in a new way through your service. The opportunities to become involved in aspects of our children’s ministry programs abound. Check out just a few ways you can impact the lives of our children and our community here. Also, feel free to submit ideas about other ways that you can become involved to our Children’s Director, Krystal. The only thing that’s missing is YOU!
Huge Success: George Washington Parkway Classic Kid Zone
Members of DBC came out in full force last Sunday! It was a perfect day for being outside and enjoying the children of our community. Volunteers were able to bless children and their families through arts and crafts, yoga, lego and circuit building and face painting. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this day great for our community!
Evening Vacation Bible School: We are gearing up for a great VBS week, August 17-20. This year’s secret agent theme will allow children to explore who Jesus is as they discover, decide and defend. Join us as a teacher or event volunteer.
Children’s Message During 11AM Service
Sunday worship service is a wonderful time to experience God in a community of believers. It is the time that we are able to hear the word of God, with a fresh perspective, that we can apply to our own spiritual walks. The children of our church have a special time in service to have biblical principles presented to them in a way that is appropriate for their age, through our weekly Children’s Message. What an awesome opportunity to have one of our adult members share an anecdote, lesson learned from childhood or words of wisdom that is applicable to what they deal with on a daily basis at school or at home.
We have openings in May and June schedule (and beyond) for you to deliver a 3 minute Children’s Message. No formal experience is needed- just a willing spirit and a passion for children. Pastor Carlton or I can help you with the format and flow, if needed.
To be involved in any of the upcoming activities, contact Krystal Speed at email@example.com. Also, feel free to submit ideas about ways to strengthen our Children’s Ministry. The only thing that’s missing is YOU!
