The Gallery's collection of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, medals, and decorative arts traces the development of Western Art from the Middle Ages to the present, including the only painting by Leonardo da Vinci in the Americas and the largest mobile ever created by Alexander Calder.

Long a favorite of DBC Seniors, Mrs. K’s Toll House Restaurant is situated in what was the last operating tollhouse in Montgomery County. Just like modern day tollgates, travelers would stop and pay a toll before using the privately owned road. The Washington-Colesville-Ashton Turnpike ran from Silver Spring to Ashton along what is now Route 29. The resident farmer, Mr. Allen, accepted the tolls of about 4 cents a horse. See their fine antiques display and beautiful gardens.
