Do you remember thinking that you may never age enough to be termed an adult? All too soon those days arrive and we find they are filled with responsibilities, commitments, and demands. (Makes you wonder why we were so anxious to get to “adulthood!”) We at DBC are aware of the difficulties of being adults. Our preaching and teaching are aimed at providing practical helps in navigating the busy lives of folks in Northern Virginia. Adults of all ages form the core of Downtown Baptist Church. They provide the leadership in committees, music ministry, deacons, missions, discipleship, and teaching. What some adults say about choosing DBC:

“The opportunities to do missions and help others led us here.”

We plan Wednesdays with adults in mind.  Starting at 6:30 p.m., we meet for a prayer time and Bible study.  While children and youth have their own activities, adults fellowship around the table. This is a great way to meet others and share concerns.

Adults choose Sunday Bible studies based on age, gender, life-stage or subject!   Nearly/newly wed couples, parents, and empty nesters all find a place at DBC. You have two opportunities for Sunday Bible study:  9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  Greeters will help find a great class for you.

Throughout the year, adults participate in a variety of special events and specific studies, all planned with adults in mind. Small groups meet during winter months on Sunday nights. This is a great time to meet new people and grow in discipleship. Parenting classes, men’s groups, women’s events, or help with life issues are all provided at DBC.
