We met here as children over 40 years ago and this church still meets our needs today.
	When we invited Christ into our lives 6 years ago, it was the best thing that ever happened to us. It was important for us to be active in the life of a well-balanced church, which not only teaches the Word in its true context but also represents Christ by being "His hands and His feet." The love we received from everyone at Downtown Baptist Church was more than we could have imagined, while the teachings energized our spirituality and journey from being baby believers, on our way to being fully devoted followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
	We came to Downtown because we both felt a spiritual void in our lives. What we found were people who really cared and helped us to come to faith in Jesus Christ. The pastor consistently taught and preached the gospel, and we learned to read God’s word. Right from the beginning, we felt that Downtown was a place where we belonged and could contribute. Now, Downtown is a place where we get spiritually reenergized each week, where we can serve others, and where we continue to grow in our spiritual maturity. It’s become an important part of our lives.
	When we first moved to this area, we struggled with the fact that we did not know anyone and were so far from friends and family. We looked for a new church for a long time, but nothing felt right. The first time we went to DBC, we knew it was the place for us. It is diverse, authentic, honest and Bible-teaching. We love the DBC family!
